Donald Trump sues Rupert Murdoch over Epstein article

Donald Trump recently filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit over an article published in the Wall Street Journal.

The newspaper reported that Trump and his allies had attempted to block the article containing details of an alleged birthday card sent to Jeffrey Epstein on his 50th birthday, in which Trump allegedly wrote an enigmatic message accompanied by a drawing of a naked woman.

In his complaint, Trump accuses Rupert Murdoch, the Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones, News Corp and two journalists of defamation for publishing an article he calls “totally false”.

Trump also denounced it as a deliberate attempt to damage his political reputation.

Following the Wall Street Journal article, the President stated on Truth Social that he had personally warned Rupert Murdoch that the story was, in his opinion, entirely fabricated.

“I told Rupert Murdoch it was a Scam, that he shouldn’t print this Fake Story. But he did, and now I’m going to sue his ass off, and that of his third rate newspaper,” said Trump on Truth Social.

While Rupert Murdoch has remained silent since Donald Trump formally filed the complaint, a Dow Jones spokesperson responded by saying, “We have full confidence in the rigor and accuracy of our reporting, and will vigorously defend against any lawsuit.”
