A Big Contract for Kyle Bradish in Baltimore

Elias, however, seems to have taken to heart the saying that it's never too late to do the right thing. Indeed, starting pitcher Kyle Bradish and the Orioles agreed today (Saturday) to the terms of a five-year, $90 million contract covering the 2027–2031 seasons.

Bradish thus becomes the third active Orioles player to sign a contract extension with the club over the past year, following catcher Samuel Basallo (eight years, $67 million) and pitcher Shane Baz (five years, $68 million).

The 29-year-old is currently earning a $3.55 million salary this year after winning his arbitration case. The new agreement covers what would have been Bradish's final two years of arbitration eligibility under the collective bargaining agreement, which remains in effect until November 30.

The right-hander has a record of six wins and nine losses with a 3.61 earned run average in 19 starts this year, his first full season back after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2024.

Bradish finished fourth in the American League Cy Young Award voting in 2023 after posting a 2.83 ERA in 30 starts. He has a 3.50 ERA over five Major League seasons, all with Baltimore.

However, it will take more than just Bradish in the starting rotation and the bullpen for the O's to once again become contenders for the top honors.
