According to CNN, she had managed to remove her monitoring bracelet a few hours earlier, adding a new chapter to this incredible story.

She had already been charged with smuggling herself aboard a Paris-bound plane in an incident on November 26.

Surveillance footage from John F. Kennedy airport, obtained by the authorities, revealed the strategy Dali employed to bypass the vigilance of airport employees and hide in the plane’s toilets.

Released without bail, Svetlana Dali had to comply with several strict conditions, including a ban on leaving the region where she lived or was subject to prosecution.

Her disappearance was reported by her roommate, who found Dali’s GPS bracelet on the ground, a measure imposed as part of her release conditions.

Dali is expected to be charged with violating the conditions of her release, an offense punishable by up to five years in federal prison.

According to the FBI, she will be transferred to the US Marshals in New York State.
