A man accused of breaking down the gate of actress Jennifer Aniston’s Los Angeles home has been charged with stalking and vandalism.

Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, originally from New Albany, Mississippi, is suspected of repeatedly sending unsolicited messages to the Friends star since March 2023, via voicemail, e-mail and social networks.

Carwyle, 48, allegedly crashed his car into the front gate of Jennifer’s Bel Air home on Monday, May 5. Prosecutors said the collision caused extensive property damage and that the 56-year-old actress was at home at the time, reports the New York Times.

According to the LAPD, a private security guard intercepted Carwyle in the driveway of the property before law enforcement arrived, who immediately took him into custody. On Thursday, prosecutors confirmed that Carwyle was facing charges of stalking and aggravated vandalism, with an aggravating circumstance related to threatening to cause serious bodily injury.

The actress has yet to comment on the incident, and no injuries have been reported. At his preliminary hearing on Thursday, Carwyle pleaded not guilty. Shirtless, he appeared wrapped in a blanket behind the glass of the dock!

The judge and prosecutors expressed doubts about his mental capacity to understand the proceedings, temporarily suspending the criminal process pending psychiatric evaluation.

A new hearing is scheduled for May 22 before the mental health court.

His bail has been set at $150,000, and he is strictly forbidden to make contact with Jennifer Aniston, approach her home or possess weapons, even if paroled.
