Putin blocks Trump, then bombs Kyiv

Donald Trump and the Russian president traded phone calls in which the American president acknowledged he did not made “any progress” on Vladimir Putin’s willingness to end the war in Ukraine. The latter has blocked all of Trump’s ambitions to negotiate eventual peace.

Trump even declared that Putin showed no intention of abandoning his objectives, a concern sadly confirmed a few hours later by a major attack on Kyiv.

During the roughly hour-long call between the U.S. and Russia, Moscow reported that Vladimir Putin had in no way altered his position regarding his objectives in Ukraine, confirming Trump’s words.

Since Donald Trump’s return to the White House in January 2025, Russian attacks against Ukraine have intensified markedly, both in frequency and scale.

This escalation is raising serious concerns about Trump’s handling of the issue, especially as the US recently halted the previously approved shipment of munitions to Ukraine.
