Trump’s garbage truck stunt backfires

Donald Trump, more orange than ever, donned a (orange) worker’s jacket to climb aboard a garbage truck emblazoned with the “Trump 2024” logo.

However, he had trouble getting in, missing the handle on his first attempt to open the door and nearly losing his balance.

Trump may have wanted to celebrate Halloween in his own way, turning up on the tarmac at Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport wearing an orange jacket to play drainer for a few hours.

It was another attempt at a “McDonald’s”-style stunt, this time in response to Joe Biden’s remarks, which had been issued a few days earlier in reaction to comments about Puerto Rico heard at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally.

Donald Trump drew mockery for several reasons. The former president appeared outside his private plane wearing an orange jacket and make-up that made his complexion look even more orange than usual.

When he tried to climb into the truck, he missed the handle and lost his balance slightly. He finally managed to open the door on his second attempt and climbed into the truck… not without difficulty.

Let’s remember that Biden reacted to a comedian’s racist joke at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally, in which Trump referred to the island of Puerto Rico as “an island of garbage”.

The president declared that Trump’s demonization of Latinos “is unacceptable and contrary to American values”. Biden added that the Puerto Ricans he knew were “good, honest, respectable people”.

A White House spokesperson then attempted to explain the president’s remarks in response to the criticism, while for her part, Kamala Harris asserted that she respected all Americans, including those who didn’t vote for her.
